i trying install wsus role on server 2008 r2 box.  member server of domain.  runs through installation fine (it seems), , @ end, pops error message says "an unexpected error occurred, , wizard must closed.  may restart wsus server configuration wizard options page in wsus 3.0 console."  when try go wsus server manager console, says "error:  unexpected error."  restarting server node nothing.  there several errors in event logs saying "the <service> not working."  there state have pasted below.  i've tried accessing console different computers no luck.  downloaded latest version microsoft's wsus site , tried installing it.  same problem.  there application installed on server, needs use port 80, wsus being configured use port 8530. i've read through other posts regarding similar issues, nothing seems quite same issue have.  ideas appreciated.   the wsus administr...

a standalone upgrade of wsus sp1 sp2 (remote sql hence no option use wsus update) failed. left no option carry out fresh install , recreate new database. time opted local database on sql server (allow future upgrade through wsus). idea being once had application , running restore old copy of database. everytime this, wsus admin console not connect app. have made sure have relevant sql logins , permissions restored db. os 2008 sp2 x86. new install works fine , clients reporting , content sync working fine too. there have been updates have declined found cause issues in our environment. great pain reidentify these before apporve other updates ability use restored db immensely. alternatively ability query old sus db list of declined updates help. so know of way restore backup copy of sus db new sus install db servers not same? or does have sql syntax list of updates have been declined not expired or superceded? i have seen post may indicate not doable. http://social....

bueno tengo este problema con windows server 2003 service pack 2 , cual seria la solucion ya que no esta dejando conectar usuarios al sbs 2003. en un sbs 2003 puedes tener 75 equipos conectados, eso es lo máximo, despues de eso es mejor pensar en una edicion distinta, como windows 2003 o 2008r2 standard. te pego un extracto del mismo documento de ms sbs 2003 mg Windows Server  >  Administración de servidor

yesterday implemented alternate login id feature in adfs. in particular implementation using 2 claims providers filtered on home realm discovery page based on relying party. filtering done following statement: set-adfsrelyingpartytrust -targetname myclaimapp -claimsprovidername @("active directory") this way, myclaimapp, users sign-in page without showing home realm discovery page. other relying parties had both claims providers available. after adding alternate login id feature, users of myclaimapp see home realm discovery page again showing both claims providers. seems restriction had set myclaimapp,  to have "active directory" claims provider available, ignored. as workaround edited javascript on home realm discovery page select active directory claims provider after page loaded not elegant solution. there other way solve this? any appreciated. wouter berman i recommend asking them here:  https://social.msdn.microsoft.com/forums/vstudio...
