2003 domain, add 2008 gc

i looking upgrade domain 2008 summer. have 2003 domain/forest (1 location, 1 forest, 1 domain) multiple dcs - 2003, 2008 r2 64-bit. of gcs 2003 severs. have dns installed on 2008 dcs.

domain in health of these checks report passes
dcdiag.exe /v
netdiag.exe /v
netsh dhcp show server
repadmin /showreps
repadmin /replsum /errorsonly

my concerns enabling 2008 gcs may present authentication issues older applications. if happens work point apps @ 2003 dc/gc servers if not already? enabling 2008 gcs , not raising forest/domain function level affect/change auth in way?

applications not care global catalogs or not

authentication -- use either hard coded domain controller or

dc locator process or else. if there issue

authentication, won't hit selecting domain controller

to gc, server 2008 , server 2008 r2 in general. if

haven't run issues (with few r2 servers running),

chances won't them gcs.
