Group policy printer settings

when using group policy computer configuration control panel settings \printers can specifiy both ip address port , path print server.  these connections local tcp\ip printers or network print server printers.  not sure why have specify path server if were local tcp\ip printers or vice\versa(specify ip address if network printers).

however, since included print related setting know asking about.

the share used print driver installed on client adding local printer.  not work if use type 4 print drivers since drivers not downloaded clients , gpp printing scenario falls apart here.

i totally agree confusing, however, print server admin, create 1 share each print driver need install on clients.  if have 80 printers can use same driver, create 1 share , update gpp data ip specific device.

i not use print server act software distribution point if number of clients on your network less 100.  setup win7 or win8 machine shares.
