hi guys i running microsoft windows server 2008r2 , exchange 2010 on same server (cant afford 2 servers). before promoted server domain controller created 1 administrator account named ******* , logged in locally test account worked ok did. promoted server domain controller , installed exchange 2010. now after promotion able log on domain controller built in admin account along admin account created before domain controller promoted. my problem created 2nd administrator account on domain controller after domain controller promotion when try , log on domain controller newly created admin account following error message; the user profile service failed logon - user profile cannot loaded. i able logon other workstations 2nd created admin account not on domain controller itself. this newly created admin account member of following; domain users, domain admins, enterprise admins, schema admins. also have tried deleting newly created account , created other new adm...

trying troubleshot sequence of events of outage on 2-node 2008 r2 mscs based cluster (we have ip address , sql server instance clustered).  refer nodes node05 , node06. both nodes running on vmware esxi 5.x database , quorum disks attached via vmware rdm ibm xiv via fiber channel.  node06's rdm set use fixed-path addressing while node05's rdm (incorrectly) set use round-robin multipath (working correct this).  each node running on different blade center.  there private heartbeat network. at beginning of event, node05 primary. at 22:08:20, both nodes report node05 removed active failover cluster membership.  23 seconds later, both nodes report disks 'unexpectedly lost' respective node.  these errors continue on more 2 minutes before things seem come online. our investigation shows that, @ least esx perspective, connectivity san luns not lost.  san monitoring shows nothing "dropping".  in addition, i'm not seeing in os/system...

hopefully right thread ask this.... i have hardware raid 5 array made of 4 1tb seagate drives. total available space 2.7tb. the operating system windows server 2008 standard edition , boot disk on drive. raid5 drive data. recently happened , upon reboot of server system wanted run chkdsk against raid5 volume and it allowed continue chkdsk. got stage 2 of 3 and it output 2 lines of text follows: correcting error in index $i30 file 286076. correcting error in index $i30 file 286076. and there stayed. machine allowed stay in state 3 days. out of desperation hard reset. the server booted , asked chkdsk again not allowed. when os booted raid5 array checked consistency. took 4 days complete. quite long time server not doing @ other checking raid5 volume. all data accessible. @ least best can determined without attempting copy files off raid5 volume. chkdsk ran properties of volume once raid5 consistency check had finished. system scheduled chkdsk run next time system booted. the short , long...

dear all, i have big problem hyper-v server , network card. i've found lot of topic around question none of them helped me. i have win 2008 r2 server hyper-v installed. have 3 nic , 1 reserved host management , others 2 reserved virtual machine . all nic intel, 1 integrated on intel motherboard , others intel gigabit et dual port . before installing role of hyper-v nic worked speed around 1gb (file transfer average 90 mb/sec, of course have gigabit lan) . after hyper-v install, host system  is going slow , network file transfer using dedicated nic ten time slower (9-10mb /sec) . same problem vm off , if remove vm ! i tried of suggestion found in old post (disabling tcp checksum / offload ...) nothing happens. what strange removing network card host operating system seems improve speed... but, of course, can't use  my lan :( i need because every night must make full backup of virtual hard disk host backup server in lan. my configuration: - server win 20...

hello, i'm running hyper-v server 2012.  my server has 8-core 4ghz amd cpu, , 16gb of ram.  i have guest os, ubuntu 12.04 installed.  i have 2 2tb 7200 rpm hard disks in raid-1. i installed basic lamp stack on server , site i'm developing extremely slow.  i have narrowed issue down mysql.  i have mysql on server across network , works fine when connect website mysql server.  i installed iotop , noticed disk usage goes high when make request page.   i've found technet post (but can't paste link because account not verified).  i didn't want change 2 options hard disk. we building out new 2012 r2 hyper-v cluster. old environment mix of cluster shared volume drives , luns presented vm itself. i had planned on presenting in old environment new environment , using cluster migration wizard move vm's on few @ time. i ran problem when connected first host our san today.  in group has on 70 lun's presented it.  once connect target host cripples.  not having memory or cpu issues disk io issues.  noticed host sees 70 plus luns , has tried bring disk online well. i don't want them online right now.  need quorum drive , few of newly created lun's online finish creating our cluster can start migrations. why host trying bring these drives online?  click on devices in iscsi initiator program locks , doesn't respond.  is there way setup target force os not bring of disk online?  removed favorite target, , there no items listed in volume list under volumes , devices.  if go disk manager shows 70 plus disk , ...
