Windows Server 2008 R2 SMTP/Email Question

hello all,

first, let me thank of taking time read , provide me insight.

secondly, please forgive lack of knowledge of subject.  trying self teach cannot afford go school.  enough that, lets on question.

i have following software installed on machine @ home:

  • microsoft server 2008 r2 standard edition
  • microsoft sql server 2008 r2 developer
  • php 5.3.6
  • phpbb 3.0.8

i have registered domain name of millergaming.net through register.com, of have single e-mail address from.  on machine @ home, have installed web server (iis) role , smtp feature.  date far patches / updates go.

now wanting accomplish - running forum on machine @ home, having difficulty setting smtp properly.  first question suppose should - need have , host e-mail address want ending in @millergaming.net?  have board set use register.com smtp server, unfortunately, gives gets e-mail board personal address.  ideal situation able use e-mail address such forums@millergaming.net or like.  preferably either invalid e-mail address, or @ least unmonitored one.

now ethical concern, not wanting send out loads , loads of spam spoofed e-mail address, when forums send out notifications such user having new private message, not want tons of e-mail hit reply clutter mailbox.  boards supposed able send e-mail somehting called mail() function, believe php thing, not sure.

i have seen references microsoft exchange server, honest, not have kind of money personal project.  wondering if listed above enough host own e-mail addresses using @millergaming.net extension.  have spoken register.com people, , explained trying do, said not support relays.  have no idea means, said wanting accomplish not done.  in looking through options in cp register.com, noticed area edit mx , dns records.  can use me accomplish goals?  @ most, should need 20 e-mail addresses.

so, hope haven't sounded idiot, trying best understand.  if there advice happy give, appreciated beyond measure.  if need clarification on anything, or more information, please not hesitate tell me, , can provide either know how to, or can reasearch how to, , gladly report back.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
