Hyper-V 6 Disk Subsystem & 3 Virtual Machines (Single Controller)

i'm looking getting best io performance 6 disk subsystem battery. system providing services terminal server, mixed sql w/ apps and we're considering adding exchange server mix using seperate raid 1 mirror totaling 8 disks.

now first impression before learning about the exchange server go mirror os , raid 10 2 virtual machines. however, adding a 3rd vm i'm bit concerned getting the best possible io.

so question here if can gain io by reducing 3 volumes 2 6 disk raid 10 vs (2) raid 1 volumes & (4) disk raid 10 since have 1 controller work with. ideas on how configured better?

note: i"m assuming gain io on dual mirror solution if share os partition light weight vm terminal server not critical.

note2: seems me can gain @ least 1/3 disk performance going mirror raid 10 on 4 drives i'm not familiar expect on 6 disk raid 10 having more spindles.

sincerly,

hi,

based on experience, raid 10 4 or 6 hdds powerful enough 3 vms if disk i/o of vms extremely huge.
