GPP not working in XP Pro sp3 with GPE applied

i have created ou specific users , applied gpp block network volumes.

works expected in windows 7 sp1 not xp pro sp3.

the xp pro system sp3 ie7 (xmllite) , gpe (group policy preferences client side extetensions) was installed (twice) so gpp requirements met. in app log there message 'access denied'. in gpp, 'general', set use current user.....

i searched other forums cannot find solution.

we suggest check event log make sure group policy preference client side extensions has been installed successfully. , refer description got “access denied” error xp client, please check computer account or user client xp client has enough permission apply gpp.

for “access denied” error, may use troubleshooting suggestions link below provides.

if above troubleshooting not work please describe how configured gpp, please tell know configuration path , settings can try reproduce , analyze issue you.

please collect gpmc log troubleshooting

1. on domain controller, click start -> run, type gpmc.msc, load gpmc console. if gpmc snap-in not installed.

2. right click on "group policy result" , choose wizard generate report problematic computer , user account (please place appropriately). (choose computer , select proper user in wizard)

3. right click resulting group policy result , click "save report…"

please check event log @ xp client, try find group policy relevant error log.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
