Shared Printers - Using a DNS record instead of server name for failover

i have server 2012 print server. plan on creating second 1 failover purposes. installing shared printers on client pcs using group policy preferences.  instead of using \\servername\printer path, can create dns record server name , use \\dnsname\printer?  way, if first server dies, edit dns record point second server instead of renaming second server , changing ip of second server.

that thoughts after little digging, found out there more it.  registry entries need modified.  changes need made both server , clients work.  think better change ip , server name match old 1 when needed.  thanks.
