Recovering deleted FRS member objects, Windows 2000 DC

i have questions recovering deleted frs member objects in windows 2000 server, outlined in kb312862.

if follow procedure exactly, word word, objects recovered?  if 1 object (sysvol\staging areas\domain) appears recovered, in manner modify example given in kb312862?

scenario: windows 2008 domain controller added domain netlogon share not created. after quite while of examining, find source (authoritative) dc, other dc in domain, not have sysvol\staging areas\domain directory , neither windows 2008 dc.  both have staging areas directory, no domain directory contained within. presuming may why 2008 machine not have policies or scripts directories under sysvol\domain. wish recover/create sysvol\staging areas\domain  directory on 2000 machine in hopes replicate 2008 machine, or failing that, creating object on 2008 machine , hoping lead functioning netlogon share on 2008 machine, , hence, second operational dc.

suggestions, cautions, , other advice of quite familiar these objects , restoration techniques welcome.

i'd happy share how did it. can tell stopped frs service on both servers, set pdc authorataive server in registry, , then  tried create missing sysvol\staging\domain directory through command line interface. got error directory or file existed. ok, never saw it, still don't, trough means know (obviousy must not know).  due interruption , time factors, didn't go further. started frs on both servers and...  saw formelry missing policies directory replicated morphed directories in \windows\sysvol\. using xcooy /o move them sysvol\domain directory , @ point things working properly.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
