MS Word 2007 Mail Merge Filter multiple AND conditions not working correctly

i'm teaching highschool class in ms word 2007 mail merge (without advanced coding or - making use of regular interface).

we making labels each learner's instrument imaginary music camp. however, learners pianos & organs can not take instruments on camp need filter instruments out.

i've selected recipients using existing ms access 2007 table. i've gone "edit recipient list" option , selected "filter". i've typed in field: musical instrument; compare to: piano; selected , drop down list , did same organ. clicked ok. scroll through mail merge recipients list , pianos & organ records have been removed list, want it.

i go document, insert merge fields, update labels. reason after working in labels document again inserts 1 of 2 (organ or piano) record list. can go , million different ways - right take out both organ , piano while i'm working in mail merge recipients dialogue box second click ok again has inserted whichever value (or comparison) entered in second row.

can shed light on why happens , how correct it?

firstly, please check steps:

1. open new word document;

2. click mailings > start mail merge > labels;

3. in the label vendors list, click company made labels you’re going print on;

4. in product number list, click number matches product number on package of labels;

5. on mailings tab, click select recipients;

6. choose data source;

7. under refine recipient list, click filter;

8. click arrow next field box, , click column want filter by;

9. click comparison, , click kind of comparison want make(exclude two);

10. select check boxes in rows want include in merge;

11. if want include in filtered set, click check box @ top of column;

12. click ok.

note: don't forget click ok button.

if steps correct, please try exclude other learner type test.

also we try rename template file:

word template location:

c:\users\v-karehu\appdata\roaming\microsoft\templates\ normal.dotm

then try again , check result.
