Folder redirection - stop managing a user

i see lots of posts on how revert user folder redirection default location, either changing current gpo or moving user new gpo uses basic , default profile location.  however keeps user "managed" , not allow user change default location.   need remove users being managed want move users onedrive or workfolders.  both of include changing document location %profile%\documents folder within workfolders or onedrive business folder.   also, have users small ssd c drive , larger second drive.  in cases onedrive or work folders location set second location.

once have determined work best each department, can standardize file location , manage users document location moment, looking way remove user being managed.   note:  i have tried excluding them gpo, not cause them "unmanaged"  and not have ability change document location locally.   happy if can admin changing registry setting or similar, ideally remotely.

hi,

have noticed you've mentioned "by either changing current gpo". not sure how did this, stop old folder redirection, have follow specific steps.

should first update gpo , set “policy removal” “redirect folder user profile location when policy removed”. please note users want stop folder redirection must log off , on computers have logged on before changes applied. “gpupdate /force” doesn't work in case.

after this, can move users different organizational unit. detailed steps on how stop folder redirection, please refer kb article: https://support.microsoft.com/en-us/kb/888203

hope helps.
