Windows 2003 Server reprints all documents at reboot
hi,
from description, understand problem meet printer job completed re-run after printer server rebooted. if there misunderstanding, please let me know.
before going further, i’d confirm following things:
1. does server use tcp/ip connect remote physical printer print? connected?
2. are jobs marked completed or send printer?
3. does problem exist models of printers or specific models of printer?
based on research, spooler find out whether there remaining jobs recoverable when restarted. if so, retry print job job reprinted. issue may occur when "bidirectional mode" box checked in "ports" tab, if using ip printer. trouble when "bidirectional mode" enable on ip, print system not stable, , job resubmitted if print device doesn’t send notification. (this problem doesn’t repro time). spooler may retry print job when restarted , find there error job recoverable. resolve issue, need disable "bidirectional mode". let’s following steps correct settings:
1.open printers , faxes
2. right-click printer want set options for, , click properties.
3. on ports tab, , clear the enable bidirectional mode(support) check box test issue again.
it reported hp print monitors may cause issue. if possible, please attach model of printer see whether problem exists newly attached printer. meanwhile, may refer following microsoft knowledge base article remove hp print monitor test issue again.
