Using encryption on one drive of server for W7 clients

hi,

i run win 2008 r2. has ssd boot drive, 9 spinners , usb attached drive.

the spinners 2 & 3 tb drives. 2 of 2tb drives set spanned volume

one of spinners has several partitions.

i considering encrypting data on 1 partition. contains user folders mapped on clients, windows 7, windows 8.1 , linux mint

i don't want use bit locker. i'd prefer "other". guess won't truecrypt given media frenzy product lately.

can please provide guidance start. perhaps advice on whether should (opinions fine, long respectful).

for example...

\\server\joe
\\server\jane
\\server\fred

thanks

tanya

hi tanya,

i'm still think bitlocker better choice going encrypt partition.

efs other encryption option in windows system requires "ownership" of data, unavailable in case folders on partitions mapped folders belong different users.

protecting data using efs encrypt hard drives

as don't use bitlocker may need find third party application purpose.
