Microsoft Word 2010 and 2011 - Freezing, Not Responding, Fails to Open/Save Network Documents

hello fellow pro's!

our employees having issues using word 2010 , word 2011. issue when working internally documents shared on network drives, microsoft word takes forever load and/or respond. when attempting save document, word crashes , unable save latest version of document. things keep in mind...

machines experiencing issues: lenovo windows 7 professional workstations. apple imac workstations running snow-leopard , lion. specs more adequate. 

the server hosting shared folders apple server running lion 10.7 server edition. think main issue. apple servers undeniably horrible. our server hosts shared folders. please advise if there fix issue. if need anymore information. post immediately! appreciated! thanks!

please try change network shared folder test if works, if so, can ensure lion 10.7 server causes problem, please contact apple support visit link below:

if problem appears when save document other network shared folder(windows), follow methods below test issue:

  • please try clear "save autorecover" check box, see below screenshot:

  • if offline files option enabled, please try disable offline files test if works.
  1. open offline files clicking start button . in search box, type offline files, , then, in list of results, click manage offline files.
  2. on general tab, click disable offline files.

         tip: you'll need restart computer changes take effect.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
