Makeing a website with windows server 2008 help

ok have microsoft server 2008 not r2 , id know how heck set website want make 1 , build on need doing of im new have microsoft visual web developer 2010 express , understand how make website in there how things show on internet , can , upgrade , stuff need in best detail , websites please help:d.

if want host web site internet users access, there alot of other things need start working on...

your first step register domain name using registrar can register particular domain of choice.  popular ones network solutions, go daddy, etc...

you'll need figure out going host dns records.  can either host them company or set own dns servers.  first typically easier , more cost effective.  in addition, many of registrars provide dns services free or @ nominal fee. 

then need figure out going host website long term.  again, many of these registrars provide web hosting packages @ nominal cost.  or set own web servers (as have indicated).   sure if search on of search engines such bing, google, yahoo, etc... find hunderds of web hosting sites.  free. 

aside hosting website, may need database connectiivty, if going displaying dynamic content.  dyncamic content going stored in db.  dependency may affect decision on host.

you dns zone need contain records point website.  if hosting in network, allow traffic website, you'll need congfigure premiter firewall and/or nat device allow traffic network.

that's pretty high overview.  if going develop in asp.net, there alot of great information out there in internet land.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...
