Assign DNS Servers in GP


our entire network static ip addresses.  computers run windows xp.  primary dc 2003 standard.  making changes dns infrastructure.  need assign dns servers users via gp.  have tried things under "user configuration" nothing seems apply. 

how go assigning dns without touching static ips?

it in computer configuration\policies\administrative
templates\network\dns client - "dns servers".

note correct group policy application needs dns servers ready ,
working if roll out incorrect dns servers, may
into situation can't revert changes (via gp).
chicken-egg-problem.
