Correct Way to Add Volume Licensing Keys to KMS Host Server for Windows 2012 and Windows 8

we have windows server 2008 r2 server our kms host. activating office2010, win2k8, winvista, win2k8r2, win7 now. , needs keep doing that.

i installed http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2757817 so kms server ready activate win8 , win2012.

i ready run

1. slmgr.vbs /ipk xxxxx-yyyyy-zzzzz-aaaaa-bbbbb

from elevated command prompt on kms server.

then next (i think) need initialize/ready new kms key issuing

2. slmgr.vbs /ato

command.

so far, good, but:

  1. please verify 2 slmgr steps above. 
  2. does kb 2757817 allow windows server 2008 r2 activate office2013?
  3. my license administrator provided me initialy win8 volume license key. asked win2012 , provided different key. use both?
  4. did licensing architecture change? there used "a" "b" , "c" levels in windows volume license keys activate different versions of winvista, win7, win2k8, win2k8r2. "a" "b" "c" groups still exist? have "b" level now. need win8/win2012 "b" key?
  5. is there single key should use can activate both win8 , win2012? or use 2 keys provided me?
  6. initally we will have 1 or 2 copies of win8 , win2012 test machines. these won't meet minimum requirements kms. if have hundreds of win7 , win2k8r2 machines, mean, in aggregate, can continue use kms activate winvista, win7, win8, win2k8, win2k8r2, , win2012?
  7. will adding the office2013 affect our ability activate office2010? same question minimal number of office2013 installs while simultaneously activating hundreds of office2010 - or need to use mak licensing office2013 now?
  8. and finally, once installed how verify other existing activation keys continuously available office2010, win2k8, winvista, win2k8r2, win7 clients (what commands use)? if breaks, how go way things office2010, win2k8, winvista, win2k8r2, win7 continue activate (what commands use before backup, , after, restore)?

as can see, lots of questions. searched answers, can't find any. why there not simplified faq on this? sorry if these stupid questions. microsoft licensing complex mere mortals.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
