Windows Server 2012 R2 Evaluation - Standard Installation - No Connections Available & Expired

i downloaded 2012 r2 evaluation copy year ago, never installed anywhere.

i've had iso file sitting on desktop computer amount of time.

i had assumed "count-down" evaluation period commence once installed , activated copy online.

am wrong in having assumed this? installed today, , tells me in bottom right-hand corner copy expired. have no means connect internet tells me "no connections available". tells me cannot install nic drivers , shows wi-fi adapter, tells me drivers not correctly installed , still tells me there no connections available.

am supposed activate feature or role in order allow lan connectivity? nic integrated motherboard , assumed there no need install drivers basic internet connection.

or trial period begin on day download iso file microsofts website?

trial begins when it's installed. can installed multiple times each it's own trial period.

that being said, show license expired until activates trial start timer.

however, has nothing lan connectivity 1 way or other. it's showing expired because of issue recognizing nic hardware. check device manager see if recognizes hardware being there, , check it's status. once resolved trial activate , counter begin. but, unless using brand new, experimental whacked out nic, shouldn't have issues nic.

if need to, windows 8.1 driver package nic can installed, not using installer. have update driver device manager , point package.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
