Windows 8.1 WSUS Client wants to download files that are not present on WSUS Server

hi all, hope can help. have wsus server installed on windows server 2012 r2 machine , manage updates 25 clients. work fine (windows 7 , 8.1) except 1 windows 8.1 client. tried reregistering client command line, no avail. client finds updates not able download them. had log @ windowsupdate.log file , saw error caused attempts download update files wsus not existet. attached last lines of log:

the client finds updates not able download them.

there's 1 known cause behavior, , that's files used exist on wsus server , not. wsus server thinks still there because downloaded, stole them content store.

this typically caused because someone/something deleted files directly filesystem.

it seems relevant updates are:

  • kb2962187
  • kb2962188
  • kb2962189
  • kb2962191
  • kb2962199

they're current, valid updates, question becomes: happened files?

to redownload files microsoft, remove approvals these updates, , re-approve them. should queue new downloads 5 updates.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...
