Clients periodically lose connection to file server
hello.
have interesting issue have not been able pin down.
periodically , randomly systems lose connection file server, means lose connection profile services.
i have windows server 2008 r2 windows 7 clients connected them.
alpha04 file server
alpha01 dns dhcp domain controller
when clients unable reach alpha04 have pinged clients , receive reply. can ping alpha01
when log on alpha04 , check, there no errors in nic, still receiving few bytes, , can ping clients.
there nothing in event log.
there nothing blocking systems or server in our firewall nor there events indicate that.
the way temporarily solve issue disable nic, re-enable, , works fine anywhere hour day , cuts out again.
any ideas of further troubleshooting?
according description, understanding clients periodically lose connection file server.
want confirm if nci re-enable solution operated on file server or client devices?
if re-enable nic works, may try use commend line ”netsh int ip reset”. commend has same effect removing , reinstalling tcp/ip. and, overwrite following registry keys:
system\currentcontrolset\services\tcpip\parameters
system\currentcontrolset\services\dhcp\parameters
besides, may temporarily disable 3rd party software , confirm result.
best regards,
eve wang
