Problems Installing Fax software for HP Officejet J3680 All In One Printer with Vista 64 bit

hi,

i cannot fax software install officejet j3680 in 1 printer.  in 1 functional 11 months until 1 day 2nd copy of printer software appeared, unbeknownst me why or how happened.  after going round , round hp online chat , phone tech support, uninstalling , reinstalling software numerous times, restoring system earlier date when in 1 functional, still not allow fax software install.  scanner , printer seem work though.  hp's solution extremely labor intensive.  2nd level support insists windows vista 64 bit update problem , not a problem with hp's hardware or software.  hp suggests save important data, restore system factory settings, install in one, install each windows update past 11 months i've owned printer one 1 until figure out windows update culprit, restore system factory settings again , reinstall printer, not allow incompatable windows update install , should fine.  other suggestions sounds insane me!  hp says option offering me , if don't it, it's tough... can't me.  said have exact same problem no matter manufacturer's printer chose try use.  crappy customer service think.  :(

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
