Moving VSS storage from multiple volumes to single volume


i've been searching web , have not been able find solid answer. here need do

we have file server has 3 drives (e,f,g). have been getting high io alerts when backups have been running lately. found best practices article states moving copies volume can resolve these problems. question:

if created h drive on server sufficient space, move storage vss on e,f, , g h drive? if so, how access , aging handled? there issues restoring files via vss using method?

we can move shadow copy storage area volume more storage capacity tackle high system i/o load. however, need note when we change location of shadow copy storage area, previous shadow copies deleted.
