What would you advise system admins NOT to do on a DC/AD?
hi
i revising active directory exam, , maintain own small domain on cloud.
as experienced system admins, emphasise other professionals not to when administering active directory, in interest of data safety , uptime? example, have used software rollback os , have sysprepped dc, both damaging server beyond repair. advise against?
i know not particular question how or problem, thought educational question.
hello,
you know, try make suggestions better settings. :-)
"re replication, lot of dcs have seen have had loads of software , crap installed on them (not mine). bad practise mission-critical servers, let alone dcs. having lot of software or windows svcs use bandwidth in way of replication's ability occur?"
replication should effected if services require permanent high bandwidth. may see problems it. software result in ad aware backup/restore problems. if user should logon dc, bad practice, use software have lower security on dc, can logon.
also applications exchange/sql require own server , both not recommended install on dc, if supported microsoft.
