Cannot install Microsoft Active Directory Connect due to missing Enterprise Admins permissions

hi @all,

i trying setup ad connect on windows server 2012 r2. stucked @ third step (connecting ad ds)

i enter user of global admin (same in step before) , right password. installation wizards return now: ¨user not part of enterprise admins group¨.

where can check if user member of group?

why possible add server domain not join ad connect?

hope have smart ideas how solve issue. in advance!

best,
patrick

patrick-

you're going need first create on-premises ad ds domain. once that, can join aad connect server domain, , you'll have enterprise admins group you're looking for.

there no user writeback today aad connect. means you'll need make new on-premises ad source of authority users @ minimum. aad connect synchronize users (and passwords) azure ad tenant.

in terms of sequencing, exchange installation (or @ least schema , ad prep steps) before install aad connect.

thanks,
brian
