Group Policy Preference failed to add some shared printers because the environment is incorrect

in company worked for, start use gp preference deploy shared printers hosted on server 2008 r2. clients win 7 x64. time time clients not able add couple of shared printers. each failed printer there's warning in application event log. below example:

log name:      application
source:        group policy printers
event id:      4098
level:         warning
user:          system

description: user 'prt-6' preference item in 'gp pref-1.0 {12345678-1234-1234-1234-123456789abc}' group policy object did not apply because failed error code '0x8007000a environment incorrect.' error suppressed.

on clients exhibit issue, can add printers of times.

what causes incorrect environment warning results in shared printer not added?

we need collect detailed information narrow down root cause of issue. please follow these steps:

 

please edit group policy enable logging :

 

computer configuration\policies\administrative templates\system\group policy\logging , tracing\printers policy processing

 

event logging options : "information / warnings , errors"

 

tracing : on

 

user trace location : %commonappdata%\grouppolicy\preferences\trace\user.log

 

computer trace location : %commonappdata%\grouppolicy\preferences\trace\computer.log

 

planning trace : %commonappdata%\grouppolicy\preferences\trace\planning.log

 

on problematic client machine, please collect above logs , use windows live skydrive (http://windowslive.com/online/skydrive ) upload file , send download address to me directly at tfwst@microsoft.com

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
