SQL Cluster - All Resources online however within SQL Management unable to see a drive as a backup location

hi all,

have 2 node windows 2008 r2 enterprise sql 2008 cluster. has been running fine months, (validation reports ok) except 1 odd situation

  • it has several netapp disks (lun) attached - 1 q:\ (quorum) / d:\ (data) / l:\ (logs) / s:\ (backup)
  • the cluster resources each 'disk drive' , 'file server' online
  • i can see drives fine in explorer , can write them (create text file etc)
  • however when opening up sql management , backing database , choosing location, can see drives except one. 1 titled 'backup'.

what doing creating file share of/on 'backup' drive , backing file share - opposed directly drive l:\

i stumped why case , not sure start troubleshooting. idea's appreciated.
