Help with MS UPdates

how can find out updates have failed when update being pushed our local server.  server team in ny pushes out these updates of them install ok,  fail.  ny sends out list host names , how many updates failed not updates have failed.  how can find out updates have failed.  if can provide me number of failed updates how can tell me updates have failed.  per ny can't done.   find hard believe can tell me how many updates have failed can't tell me updates failed...

so.. couple of items here might help.

first, assuming ny team using =wsus= (you started out in windowsupdate forum , got moved here based on assumption) . . .

1. server team doesn't "push" updates. merely approve them installation, makes them visible windows update agent on systems. activity of wuagent logged in windowsupdate.log, , application event log, places start if have indications installation failed. specific updates failed installation logged in sources.

2. ny people ought able provide specific updates have failed, know that's available in console , reports, maybe might push them bit more helpful.

second... update installations shouldn't fail, if ny team sending out =list= of machines , quantities of failures -- there's bigger going on in environment ought investigated. can count on 1 hand number of installation failures i've seen on systems in past 5 years.
