Hyper-V not getting IP Address for PXE Booting

hi all,

i'm trying windows installation happening within hyper-v machine wds server in vm.

it's bit of confusing set up. have laptop running 2 vms - 1 windows server 2008 r2 (ad / dhcp / dns), second windows server 2008 r2 running windows deployment services.

i having physical machine running windows server 2008 r2 hyper-v installed. they're connected , communicating fine. can ping each other no issues. both physical server , wds server authenticated on domain , logged in.

i have physical nic on physical server connecting laptop via network cabling - how communicate.

whenever start hyper-v machine retrieve installation via wds server, nothing happens. dhcp times out. i've tried can think of. physical nic in physical server tp-link tg-3468.

the nic on laptop realtek pcie gbe family controller - rtl8167.

why can't hyper-v pick ip address pxe booting?

thanks in advance!

hi eliminatrix,

>>i have physical nic on physical server connecting laptop via network cabling - how communicate.

first ,please check external virtual switch configured .

if have checked "allow management operating system ..." please try to configure physical host automatically ip dhcp check if dhcp works .

also please refer following blog regarding wds step step guide :
