Deploying server images to same domain

hi,

i'm having difficulty working out way of deploying server images.

we're running development system several different win 2008 servers (dc, sql, iis, etc). heavily configured, number of 3rd party applications installed. need deploy these servers larger, resilient network have several instances of each server running in same domain provide redundancy , failover (not using windows failover clustering). hardware identical in every way.

main issue sid , machine name duplication. i'm looking way image , deploy these servers without them conflicting each other. sysprep seems intended tool, breaks config on of our servers in 1 way or another. don't trust newsid, it's unsupported , i've had break 2008 server badly in past.

have "base image" works sysprep, there weeks of work put configuration of various servers don't want have duplicate during deployment phase. there issue of human error eliminate creating single set of master images can tested extensively , imaged from.

have advice or experiences help?

thanks

did customer, used single, sysprepped, w2k8 image , configured post-os configuration using (at time) mdt 2008 task sequencer. has built-in support adding server roles , features, , task sequence engine makes possible automate (if not all) server configurations. had 1 image, , 5 different task sequences configure specific server role, iis, dns or dc.
