Mounting a Windows 2003 NTFS drive in Windows 2008
if both servers in same domain, don't see why not. if these stand alone machines, kinda doubt it.
http://www.ntfs.com/ntfs-permissions-security-identifier.htm
if both machines in same domain security identifiers same between machines (unless local machine user had permissions applied). in stand-alone environment have no way of know security identifier belongs username, group, computer, etc.
if there way both machines running @ same time, recommend setting mapped drive , xcopy files/folders proper permission flags. safest way transfer files , still maintain security settings.
i hope helps.
