User Appdata folders appearing on DFS servers

just noticed user appdata folders appearing on our 3 dfs file servers. random users, not of them. don't recall ever looking @ user folder on these servers don't know how long they've been there.

my first thought gpo redirection causing ones applied user documents folders.

notes:

 - these windows 2008 servers

 - not use roaming profiles

 - there no files under appdata subfolders, folders themselves.

any ideas appreciated.

thanks in advance,

as said before, "the appdata contains application settings numerous microsoft , third party programs. microsoft service may produce data in folder. "

> dfs not configured allow things written folder

but when run dfs service, may reproduce settings files ( may 1 possible write  the folder). suggest might monitor folder figure out service write in folder.
