Unable to validate TRUST relantioship

contoso forest:

- dfl:windows server 2003

- ffl:windows 2000

- 2 windows server 2003 dcs dns, 1 exchange 2007

- set dns forwarder "fabrikam.com"

- ping fabrikam.com - successful

- ping dc01.fabrikam.com - successful

fabrikam forest:

- dfl:windows 2000 native

- ffl:windows 2000

- 3 windows server 2008 dcs dns, 2 exchange 2007

- set forwarder "contoso.com"

- ping contoso.com - successful

- ping dc02.contoso.com - successful

i used administrator account create trust relationship. trust relantiohip created below:

trust type: external

transitive: no

when tried validate trust, appeat meesage

the secure channel (sc) reset on domain controller \\dc02.contoso.com of domain contoso.com domain fabrikam.com failed error: there no logon servers available service logon request.    incoming trust validated.
please advice

 

today rebuild trust relationship on different server. magically, i'm able verify trust relationship.

1. set dns forwarder between domain

2. make sure source domail able ping , solve fqdn target domain , vice-versa

3. create 2 ways trust relationship

4. verify trust

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
