Trust relationship question and how it affects the drop down domains listed at a login screen

all,

i have setup domain trusts domain b.

now domain b has 2 child domains called domain b1 , domain b2.

the trust forest wide between domain , domain b .... because of this, domain has transitive trust domain b1 , domain b2.

now workstation in domain or domain b .. can see both domains listed options in drop down domain menu @ login screen.

however, dont see domain listed in drop down menu on workstation in domain b1 , domain b2. , vice versa, dont see domain b1 , domain b2 listed in drop down menu on domain a. way can authenticate bypassing drop down menu , specifying domaina\username on machine in domain b1 or b2.

is there way make domain shows option in drop down domain box @ logon? can specify explicit trust between domain , domain b1 , trust between domain , domain b2 ... dont wanna if dont have to.

what seeing normal , design. need use upn name login domain a. since, there no direct trust relation between domain , sub domains in domain b. domain , b can see each other in drop down sub domain can't. can make use of shortcut trust between domain , sub domain b1 , b2.

from windows 2008, option of drop down menu removed.so either use domain\user or user@domain.com.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
