Terminal Services 2008 Printing to LPT1 and LPT2, Disabling the Password Prompt
my setup windows 2008 terminal server running on vmware virtual server. off bat we're not dealing physical lpt ports here. our application bypasses spooler , prints directly lpt port old dos version did. worked fine in ts 2000. in 2003 , 2008 i'm having these issues.
first: printing lpt1
as admin when run login script maps drive (e.g. "net use lpt1: \\computername\printer") executes fine. however, regular user prompts me password. how can disable behavior?
second: printing lpt2
as either admin or user, system error 1200 when trying print lpt2 mapped network printer. i'm going try in registry manually add lpt2 port , see if works. i'm putting out there.
any advice helpful. thanks.
