Lotus Notes v8.5 calendar entries show the wrong time in remote thin clients
build: 3790
service pack 2
problem:
lotus notes v8.5 calendar entries show wrong time in remote clients. show time server located in different time zone.
symptoms:
citrix server lotus notes published resides in winnipeg, mb (central time zone). when user located in time zone connects thin client our domain , uses citrix access lotus notes, can create entries in calendar intended times (e.g. user in pacific time zone creates meeting entry scheduled today @ 3:00pm), after saved, if same user, or other user time zone checks entry, time modified based on central time zone (in previous example, user see meeting not set 3:00pm, 1:00pm). happens because when user saves entry, time of entry saved central, not local time zone.
note: have brought issue ibm's attention first, have responded known issue between microsoft , java application used lotus notes time zone redirection.
ibm response:
"reported under spr tmds8mqmpy, , apar lo64760. starting in xenapp 6, active directory group policy used time zone redirections. registry keys client workstation used pass values no longer used. such has been determined problem java installed within window's environment, , there no current solution notes perspective standard notes client uses java information collect correct time zone information.
please report problem microsoft need work oracle correct issue java related programs related date/time information reflect same behavior seen within standard notes client java based application."
question: microsoft have solution situation?
hi nathaniel,
strictly speaking, it's not microsoft problem. ibm has suggested microsoft involved (ideally via pss) try , assist, that's different them having issue of own may have hotfix, recommended configuration change, etc.
it's not particularly detailed response, when refer xenapp 6 utilising group policy, can make assumption (given don't run xenapp) might referring following group policy setting:
computer configuration\administrative templates\windows components\remote desktop services\remote desktop session host\device , resource redirection: allow time zone redirection
so, might want either run rsop.msc while in active citrix session, or use gpmc generate remote rsop logging set of information , see if policy either not set or set disabled.
if it's setting, example 1 provided via adm or admx either citrix or oracle (not latter), you'd have @ template instead.
you might want @ e-mail or telephone support contact information found here if elect engage microsoft on topic..
cheers,
lain
