Has Anyone Configured Replication for Hyper-V VMs Between Dell EqualLogic PS Series SANs?

earlier year purchased 2 dell r610s , 2 4000 series eql ps series sans.  the purpose of these set small hyper-v cluster , use eql ps replication achieve disaster recovery copy of the hyper-v vms at second location. 

we did not want go geographic cluster start (i aware of steeleye datakeeper cluster edition), , prepared live re-mapping replica san volumes dr cluster, should need arise.

the sales team @ dell advised equipment fine remote replication, , marketing literature at: http://www.dell.com/downloads/global/products/pvaul/en/solution_brief_auto_snapshot_manager_microsoft_edition_for_hyper_v.pdf

which sates following:

“the ps series array’s advanced data protection quick recovery, online scalability, and remote replication helps make ideal storage platform hyper-v server environments require maximum availability.”

indicates remote replication possible.

however, when have installed auto snapshot manager (asm) host integration tools (hit) 3.4.2, advised following regards working hyper-v:

“hyper-v smart copy operations

the following constraints apply smart copy operations of virtual machines:

[…]

•replicas not supported.”

so, this, assume unable configure replication schedule replicate our hyper-v vms remote eql ps .

i hoping there missing, replicas standard volumes work fine remote eql ps, however, seems main purpose purchase (to replicate hyper-v workloads) is not viable!

any input anybodye else has tackled particular scenario 2 eql ps sans , hyper-v would appreciated.

thank replies , suggestions - , sorry slow response.  i've been against out cluster , running.

i did in fact post both dell eql forum, , raise case eql - multiple irons in fire 'n' all.

in summary, have now had same answer both forum , eql - is:

• yes, documentation suggest replicas can created asm.
• no, asm can't create replicas hyper-v vms @ present - i.e. hit 4.3.1.  (hit 4.5, on pre-release will not offer solutions either.)
• the way possible perform replicas @ present, in eql group manager - provide crash consistent replica.
• the forum suggests asm support replicas in future version.

so, our plans follows:

• use asm snapshot local group vss consistent copies of vm.
• replicate @ volume level dr group in order achieve crash consistent copy of vm.
• keep eye on future hit releases introduction of replica functionality in asm.

if remeber, i'll try , post thread if/when replicas become available in asm.
