Receiving error in GPMC similiar to KB 2028605, but on Windows 7 SP1 machine

our administrative workstations running windows 7 sp1, domain controllers running windows server 2008 rtm enterprise.  while reviewing our default domain policy settings, have same issue identified in kb 2028605.  hotfix works rtm versions of 2008 r2 , win 7.  ms documentation says hotfix included in sp1.  followed instructions on modifying/reapplying gp settings per kb article, has not fixed issue.  there somethine else need fix this?

hi,

i see received following error:

the file "\\<dc name>\sysvol\<domain name>\policies\<policy guid>\<machine or user\registry.pol" not in valid format.  the file might corrupt.  use group policy object editor reconfigure settings in extension.

does error occur when connecting dc or dcs? please confirm first. can make sure gpo applied on clients? “certificate services client - certificate enrollment policy”, please @ hkcu (or hklm)\software\policies\microsoft\cryptography\policy servers registry on client. please try rename registry.pol file referenced in error, , copy known registry.pol file domain controller has not been affected or backup.

please update results.

thanks.
