Failure Installing Updates on Server 2012
hi everyone
this first time posting here, though i've found valuable , advice here many times before!
i have bit of strange problem i'm hoping can please with...
we have around 20 servers in our environment upgraded windows server 2008 r2 enterprise windows server 2012 standard. upgrades went smoothly, i'm having problems windows updates on of them.
about servers
each of these servers:
- is domain controller (domain @ windows server 2008 r2 functional level)
- is database server (sql server 2012 standard)
- hosts applications iis
- have @ least dual-core 64-bit cpu , 8gb of ram
- use kaspersky internet security 10, anti-virus (i've tried uninstalled)
at present, servers receive updates using windows update - we're looking wsus suspect wouldn't here.
the problem
whenever try install updates:
- kb3078601
- kb3082089
- kb3087039
it attempts install them, when restarts spends few minutes 'reverting changes'.
once restarts, having reverted changes - see failed updates listed in update history.
when double-click failed updates, see error code 800f0922.
i have tried following different methods of delivering these updates:
- installing them one-at-a-time
- installing them manually, downloading standalone installer
- performing clean boot , installing manually
- uninstalling kaspersky, performing clean boot installing manually
each time faced same issue - can't seem work out! out there know what's happening, or how can these updates install?
thanks in advance,
rory mckeown
ps - can't post screenshots account isn't verified :( can provide screenshots separately if it'd helpful!
this 1 might help.

also not recommended install sql or iis roles on domain controller. dc should provide ad/dns roles only.
