server 2k3 issues
we have been having alot of problems lately. the server locks due explorer.exe crashing, terminal services not work , general slowness of network drives. im sure the problems related cannot find common factor nor kind of start date coincides changes made. of right im logged in remotely server if else tries connect login box never comes up. they sit connected looking @ background without way interact server.
there multiple instances of explorer.exe crashing in logs cannot find out why. drivers , firmware date , using msconfig bare minimum services , startup processes runs.
there few other errors in event log including jrnl_wrap error single server within domain think jrnl_wrap can ignored. here list of events think important
source: dns eventid: 4016
source: ntfrs eventid: 13568 (jrnl_wrap)
source: drwatson eventid: 4097 (explorer.exe | exception generated c00000005 @ address 40400049 [<nosymbols>])
server hardware: intel xeon cpu e5410 @ 2.33ghz 3.5gb of ram
i think hardest part of problem finding quantifiable thing exact problem , testing after think may fixed. rdp issue happening close can issue @ hand troubleshooted , tested. explorer crashing alot harder troubleshoot. know of monitor or tool to find out causing explorer.exe crash?
