Server 2012 Windows Update Group Policy

i've deployed few 2012 servers using same group policies have been using on our 2008 r2 sp1 servers windows update.  on 2008 r2 sp1 servers boxes install updates @ 2:00am , restart.  2012 servers install updates @ 3:00am and display prompt restart in couple days.  14 days later , they still have not rebooted.  this group policy applied ou these servers in.  when looking @ ui windows update > change settings, says "some settings managed system administrator" cannot see details used know group policy @ least trying control windows update.  i've looked in registry on 2012 servers , group policy settings there not of them appear working.  why occurring , need fix it?  thanks.

well, ended opening case microsoft , answer got disappointing. 

i able set time automatic installation of updates setting group policy located here: computer configuration->administrative templates->windows components->maintenance scheduler->maintenance activation boundary

windows 8 , server 2012 reboot after updates have installed if no 1 logged onto computer.  however, still not force reboot user logged on used in previous versions of windows.  still big problem our servers.  have hundreds of servers , impossible ensure of them don’t have logged them when patches set install.  many of these provide services can’t randomly reboot during day when being used referring technician's response below: “if user signed in computer , there potential of loss of state or data when windows ready restart, restart delayed next time user unlocks computer.”

i responded not , horrible problem many people encounter.  microsoft technician's answer "at time reboot behavior windows 8 & windows server 2012 in fact have controlled solely via setting deadlines on approved updates."  i followed again trying find out why has changed , future plans fix this.  , last response got.  "at time not have information can share why changed or future plans."

so have been left high , dry on issue.  plan continue pursuing issue see if can listen.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
