Remote app: program not found when open a file associated with program

hi,

have seen number of articals similar problem far none have identified it. problem if click on file associated published remoteapp, complains , says application not found. yet launching application , opening file works. working stopped working no changes having been made. take example of publised instance of internet explorer, rdp file contains following :-

if click on html file open associated program error "the program internet explorer not found" being generated mstsc client version 6.1 protocol version 7.0. clients windows xp.

i have built second remoteapp server , still has same problem, thinking either patch has been released or must gpo. recived has been going on 3 months , causing reduced productivity among many admin staff.

unfortunately when using remoteapp file type associations "program cannot found" error not mean program not found on server, when, in case, opening app using normal remoteapp links working correctly.

the error you're seeing caused either 1) failure open file server, or 2) error in rds server components' code interacts server's file type associations. since can open files launching remoteapp going file->open, #1 unlikely (although not impossible). steps alex suggested above narrow down whether cause #2 in case, , if why.

Can no longer user MS Update - Files required to use Microsoft Update are no longer registered

hi, i'm new server 2003.  installed it.  removed enhanced ie security.  proceed download , install windows server 2003 sp1, of dot net (1.1, 2.0, 3.0, 3.5, , updates), , sp2. after downloaded , installed of above, tried windows update menu option in ie.  (ie 8 windows server 2003) , sits there "done" in lower left hand corner.  never brings in window. so try www.microsoft.com -> download , trails -> update.  received error message "files required use microsoft update no longer registered or installed on computer".  click on register or reinstall files me now.  window changes , "check latest version of windows updating software .... ".   sits there (last time sat there on hour). i went on internet , found instructions: regsvr32 wuapi.dll regsvr32 wups.dll regsvr32 wuaueng.dll regsvr32 wucltui.dll regsvr32 atl.dll regsvr32 msxml3.dll did not work either.  have other suggestions?...

How do a find data in one file, search for it in another file and if not found, write a custom message to another file
