Hyper-V - Active Directory & Gaming support
in our current small office network running 5 main pc's - slowest box running win2008 64bit rc1 , handles active directory dns/wins. file & print services and syslog our cisco router/firewall. run hyper-v server (win2003 32bit guest os for special 2 factor authentication software etoken ssl vpn with our cisco asa/pix -as doesn't work under longhorn directly) can run ok 2gb ram because although it's running multiple services, actual traffic light.
the fastest pc 64bit extreme quad-core running vista 32bit.. , runs for gaming. most of time idle cpu/disk .when not being use ... when .. we have intense graphics directx10.. , don't want compromise game performance.
my question is, need free box run webserver inside dmz... (with nothing else on it) better install win2008 64bit on fastest box , create guest os 32bit vista run games on, along other guest os win2003... or would ok to simply install the games directly on win2008 server (does support directx10) , wouldn't see performance problems.. understanding guest os video performance lacking..
last question .. better in terms of performance have base 64bit win2008 hyper-v running 32bit guest os... or 32bit base 32bit guest.. couldn't imagine benefit of running 32bit base, a 64bit guest os. (either on actual 64bit processor or 32bit one)
thanks kevin

you won't able play directx games within hyper-v virtual guests.
directx not supported / enlightened.
